HIDEOUT: Underground UX Rave Visuals
Overview Hideout was an underground rave hosted in an unlikely urban pocket—tucked behind a large grocery store in Toronto where most people would never wander alone. Produced by four influential collectives (New Currency, Livingroom, Kuruza, and ISM), the event brought together 250–300 people for a high-energy night of music, culture, and visual experimentation. I was responsible for crafting and performing the projected visual environment using TouchDesigner and custom instancing systems. Problem Hideout’s location—a stark concrete wall behind a grocery store—was visually empty and uninviting. The organizers needed a way to transform a raw, industrial space into an immersive cultural moment without staging, lighting rigs, or traditional venue infrastructure.
