“The Greatest T-Dot Hip-Hop Music Video Rap Along” (IdeasCity Toronto, 2018)

Overview As part of IdeasCity Toronto 2018—a collaboration between The Bentway and the New Museum (NY)—I contributed to “The Greatest T-Dot Hip-Hop Music Video Rap Along,” an interactive film celebrating 20 years of Toronto hip-hop culture. Curated by Supafrik and hosted by icons Master T and Michie Mee, the Rap Along showcased seminal music videos, archival moments, and cultural milestones in the city’s hip-hop lineage. My role was to edit and prepare the film content for live presentation, ensuring the visuals were smooth, on-brand, culturally respectful, and synchronized with audience participation. Problem The Rap Along required a visual edit that: merged decades of music video sources into one cohesive interactive film preserved the legacy of Toronto's hip-hop pioneers followed the event’s brand and cultural guidelines allowed hosts to guide the audience through each chapter seamlessly worked flawlessly within the technical constraints of a public outdoor venue The challenge was to create an edit that felt energetic, culturally authentic, and technically polished, all while respecting the legacy of the artists and the structure curated by Supafrik.
